CNBC was working a theme last night... from Fast Money to Cramer, it was 'the machines' that caused yesterday's panic selling. Indeed, the thing had a robotic feel to it as the market would try to gain some footing and then start to plunge, my screen blinking red in increasingly manic fashion with each decline.
I think they used to call these margin calls, did they not? Whatever, machine or margin clerk, yesterday was fun to watch as forced liquidation was undeniable. Over in the gold sector HUI was up around 25 bucks at one point. I was on the phone with my mom and I watched the robots taking Huey down... +24, 18, 16, 10, 8, 4, ZERO. "Gotta go ma... talk to you soon" :-)
Speaking of gold stocks, I simply had to add some as I was under exposed to risk. Per thoughts in NFTRH, I have retooled the profile of what I hold as the exploration sector has been at greater liquidity (and technical) risk than other areas within the sector.
Buying was not done in heroic fashion, but rather with a sort of selective greed. That is because I do not yet have an ultimate signal to go all in, or as close to 'all in' as I ever go. We are watching for that signal in NFTRH and what I will say here on the blog is patience, balance and perspective never go out of style. Use those things.
