Gibson USA Under Attack

For anyone who has not heard, one of the remaining US guitar manufacturers has now been raided twice in the last two years due to suspicions that its fretboard wood was not legally obtained from foreign entities.  Gibson claims this accusation is totally false and the government has not given any proof.

My Les Paul has a rosewood fretboard.  So am I violating the law just by playing it or do I have to cross state lines with it to be arrested?

I try hard to keep a level head and realize that government clerks are just products of their myopic situation, following a selective letter of the law in a droning, boilerplate fashion that sometimes ends up in absurdities like this.  But it really is sickening when you juxtapose this kind of thing along with all the other regulatory hurdles American companies must deal with (I know of what I speak first hand)  against the thought of Chinese workers being tossed out in the virtual dumpster and replaced if they become too weak (due to labor conditions) to do their job.
