Holiday Tree... Really?

From the Statehouse News Service (Boston):

TREE LIGHTING MONDAY AFTERNOON
Gov. Deval Patrick plans to light the holiday tree outside the State House on Monday at 5:30 p.m., his aides confirmed Tuesday.

I on the other hand just got back from picking out a really nice CHRISTMAS Tree with my kids.  I was born Christian but am not overly enthralled with organized religion and yet this PC sanitizing of Christmas pisses me off.  I can only imagine what it does to devout people.

It's a Christmas tree.

  2. There's a more accurate description of 'political correctness', and it is called cultural tyranny. It's a form cultural peer pressure to group-think and be fearful of speaking truth and thinking independently.

So, Merry Christmas, Gary and Rabbit Hole denizens!

  3. Yes! End the cultural tyranny of groupthink! It's time for us to take back the European pagan winter festival that got stolen by the Christians.

It's historical fact that Jesus couldn't possibly have been born on the 25th of December, and the originally recognized date of his birth was moved in an attempt to overthrow the existing pagan European winter festival to eliminate the European cultural heritage in favour of some middle-eastern messianic cult.

I for one am happy to see people stand up for the culture of my northern European pagan ancestors. Let's send this upstart "religion" back to the middle east where it belongs. Bring back Yule! Bring back Ostara! Bring back Samhain and May Day!
