Here in the town with the NHL goalie (Tim Thomas, Bruins) that snubbed a White House visit recently, this video is timely. If I had been a member of the Bruins and had Thomas' political orientation (I don't, and I certainly don't share Obama's either) I'd have gone to that White House and I'd have shaken the President's hand and I'd have come home and told my kids all about it.
Maher's 'New Rules' addresses the subject of face to face disrespect of this president about 1:40 in and I could not agree more. That picture of the Arizona governor is disgusting. Makes me wonder how Maher managed to make the whole spot so funny.
Just a little off topic post for a US market-free President's Day.

Sorry Gary, respect is not earned by the title of office. There is a systematic plan to bring the United States down. Obama's just carrying out his part, Bush and many presidents before him did their parts. No one who's owned by bankers and transnational corporation's whose goal is the institution of fascism in this country deserves respect. They should be treated as traitors.
ReplyDeleteBill Maher's point is that if you disrespect Obama to his face you must be a racist. That's a very mature point, and so funny. After all, Obama has done very little to actually garner anything but great respect in regard to border security(fast and furious), the economy(crony capitalism, banker and Wall Street Bailouts), illegal wars(Afghanistan,Libya), etc.. So, in the end, when we and our children are sold into debt slavery by our president and his puppeteers, we can feel good knowing that given the chance, we would never disrespect the president to his face.
ReplyDeleteUnctuous prig Bill Maher thinks anyone who disrespects Obama to his face rather than behind his back must be a racist. There can be no other explanation. And that's supposed to be funny and a good point?
