Otto & Gary: a Love Story, Part 3

I want to publicly thank Otto at IKN for his recommendation of my methods (if not the greater TA discipline) and my service on his blog yesterday.  Fair disclosure; this came after my 'WTF dude, at least put my name on the post if yer gonna eviscerate what I do' email to him after a mutual blog reader asked if he was trying to wind me up again with this post about the Au-Cu ratio which I thought had me written all over it.

Just Otto being Otto and you know what, I like people who are difficult.  I like people who 'have a problem' with things being too comfy and settled.  Those are two qualities that describe me pretty well [edit 6:21... Yikes!! On re-read, it sounds like I am describing myself as comfy and settled... no no no... I tend to be difficult and have a problem with 'comfy and settled' is what I meant, sheesh].  I like people who know what they think and back it up.  I even like shit disturbers, because they are in motion and not asleep at the switch, serving only their own egos.

What I also like is the extremely hard work this man does in his weekly letter.  There is a reason I am able to write a weekly newsletter, disclaim that I am most definitely not a stock analyst, and still have confidence in the portfolio I use to illustrate how I am backing up the analysis at any given time.  IKN Weekly and MetalAugmentor, along with a few subscribers - notably the estimable 'FL' - are invaluable to me with regard to quality mining stock selections.  Yes, there are some of my own picks in there as well, but hey, I have been around the sector a long time.

I cannot believe the detail that each and every edition of IKN goes into.  This is not easy work folks.  Otto becomes intimately involved with the stocks he highlights and this gives his subscribers the security of knowing that someone who actually cares - as opposed to pitches newsletters - is on the job each and every week.  Reco MENDED.

But anyway, I wanted to publicly acknowledge Otto and thank him for setting me straight and then posting what he did yesterday.  A true mensch, prickly as he can be  :-).

  1. For every parcel I stoop down to seize
    I lose some other off my arms and knees,
    And the whole pile is slipping, bottles, buns --
    Extremes too hard to comprehend at once,
    Yet nothing I should care to leave behind.
    With all I have to hold with hand and mind
    And heart, if need be, I will do my best
    To keep their building balanced at my breast.
    I crouch down to prevent them as they fall;
    Then sit down in the middle of them all.
    I had to drop the armful in the road
    And try to stack them in a better load.

    Got no papa, got no mama
    Got no wife and got no chillun
    Got no use for penicillin

  3. This is the end,
    Beautiful friend,
    This is the end,
    My only friend,
    The end...of our elaborate plans,
    The end...of everything that stands,
    The end...no safety or surprise,
    The end...I’ll never look into your eyes
    Again.

    Can you picture what will be,
    So limitless and free,
    Desperately in need of some
    Stranger’s hand
    In a desperate land.
    Lost in a Roman wilderness of pain
    And all the children are insane
    All the children are insane;
    Waiting for the summer rain.
